Hello All,

When I run VOLMSH in BUILD, I got an error message "The following errors were found during checking: From number of quad4 elements on the faces of Solid 2 expect to find 726 nodes associated with those quad4 elements. However 762 nodes actually found - probably need to equivalence more nodes." What's the meaning of this error message? Thank you for your help!!

I also met similar error message. I think you need change change the equivalence tolerance and then run volmsh.

hi,hx~

I don't know how to "change the equivalence tolerance ", could you tell me how to change it? Where can I change find it and to change? Thanks!

you may try to run this procedure,PREFERENCES->GLOBAL-> global model tolerance, and then reduce the value.

Another method without touching the global model tolerance is to use the Mesh menu.

Click on the "Create" button and select the "Equivalence" options from the menu that appears. Simply change the "Equivalencing Tolerance" to your increased value and click apply.

Hope this helps

Devin, Are your figures of "expected" and "actually found nodes" correct? Thus, could it be that the figures have been interchanged? Often nodes do disappear when they are treated by VOLMSH as only one node due to the prescribed tolerance vs the actual proximity of the nodes in question.

Equivalencing will sort you out.

Hi,all~~

I've changed the "Global Model Tolerance" to 1e-10 and click apply via PREFERENCES->GLOBAL->Global Model Tolerance procedure. Use the Mesh menu, Click on the "Create" button and select the "Equivalence" options from the menu that appears. Change the "Equivalencing Tolerance" to 1e-10 and click apply. I've tried these two ways to solve the problem, but the error message is still existing. What's wrong with my case? Thank you for your help!

I've experienced this problem several times and still experinecing one this afternoon. Most cases the problem is with relation between the node contraction or expansion with number of nodes. Try to reduce the number of nodes and Tolerence. Reduce the End ratios and try it again!

Hello,

Assuming the global tolerence and approximate maximum dimension given for your model geometry are correct, i think, you have to doubly ensure the absence of interblock boundaries. This is usually formed by selecting the same surface accidentally more than one time for extrusion into a solid. The second reason may be if there is an explicit attachment to ur geometry, the precise 'constrains' to be specified. If you have not gone with mesh seeding in this case, please go ahead with mesh seeding.

Regards
