Question CFX ERROR:Stopped in routine TRCPRT

I'm using cfx to perform condensation flow calculations with a mixed mass (steam3l+steam3v+H2 Ideal gas), and I always get the following error when I reach the last step of the calculation. What is the problem and how can I change it?What does TRCPRT mean?

The error messages in CFX are not very helpful sometimes.

All I can suggest is to simplify the model and add the complexity one step at a time. Does it run single phase? Then try with steam3l+steam3v only. If that works then add the H2. At least this will tell you which bit of the physics is causing the problem.

Thanks for your advice, I did the calculation with steam3l+steam3v and it worked, but adding H2 gave me an error.I replaced H2 with air ideal gas and the same error occurred.

How are you modelling this? I presume steam3l+steam3v is a homogenous binary mixture, but how have you included H2? Or is it all a multicomponent mixture?

Please upload your CCL or output file.

You appear to have modelled a multiphase model with h2 as a dispersed fluid, s3l as droplets with phase change, s3v as a continuous fluid. Did you intend to model this as a homogenous binary mixture? The s3l and s3v materials appear to be intended to be used in a homogeneous binary mixture.

Are you sure you are using the correct multiphase model?

Yes, I tried to use steam3vl as homogenous binary mixture, but in cfx-pre there is an error message: homogenous binary mixture doesn't allow to add other mixtures, so I just didn't set them as homogenous binary mixture. Should I define a H2Ol and H2Og myself?

Please read the documentation about homogeneous binary mixtures. You cannot use them if you do not understand them.

A homogeneous binary mixture is two phases of the same material (eg water vapour and liquid water) which are linked together in CFX so the phase change between the two phases can be modelled.

You cannot have 3 materials in a HBM, and you cannot have different materials in a HBM (eg water and H2).

I suspect you want a HBM between water and its vapour, but you then want a multicomponent mixture between the HBM and H2. But you should understand these models so you are sure you select the correct one. There are other ways of mixing them together which might be appropriate depending on what you are doing.
