Hi,

I'm calculating the drag past 2D circular and elliptical cylinders. I'm not very sure about the reference values I'm using. As for the frontal area, I'm using the diameter of the cylinder since the depth is unity. I'm using the diameter also for the length. For the velocity I'm using the free stream velocity. Are these values ok?

If you are using CFX, there must be a 3rd dimensional distance as we dont have truely 3d solutions. So why can you not use the actual frontal area?

free stream velocity is fine
