Hi all,

Im trying to import a simple 2D geometry (3.5m x 50m) into ICEM but it keeps giving me an error. I made it in Rhinoceros so I tried both .3ds and .stp, both not working. Can someone help me out please?

Cheers!

Showing the error message would help....

Try other import formats as well. There are many others to try, such as IGES and parasolid.

Oh right..so when I try to import a .stp file through open geometry I get: no such command: ISO-10303-21;
error in Baseline V1 2D Aerodynamic shape.stp
can't read surface model

When I go to Import model and import the .stp file I get: an internal error has occured - no tetin base available

Any idea? Cheers

If all else fails I'll try to create a .tin file?

Try all the formats, not just one or two.

You appear to be importing 2D surfaces. Make sure you have the options set up to allow importing of surfaces (by default most accept solids).

Thanks alot, it worked. I thought the geometry only consisted of points and curves and didn't click to import surface. Quite stupid. I hope it does not influence the simulation.
