Hi

I want to make a graph showing the time-steps on the x-axis and a variable on the y-axis (e.g. temperature).

I was inside the option īchartī however it is not quite clear what I should do. Any suggestions?

Thanks

Hello Sara,

Go to insert -> chart
in the general tab -> select type: XY - Transient or Sequence
in the X Axis tab -> select expression -> time steps (you might have to load the .trn file in CFX-Post you are interested in, not just the .res file)
in the Y Axis tab -> Data Selection -> Variable: Pressure/velocity, etc... There are three dots on the right of the selection box if the variable you are looking for is not listed in the drop down menu.

If you wanted the readings along a line/plane, you must select the entity in the Data Series tab.

Thank you!

I have created a graph with three functions (average, min, max) with x=time and y= temperature. I want to calculate where the functions intersect, is it possible inside CFD-post? I know I can do it in excel, R etc. if I have the .csv data.

When I export the file to get a csv-file I only get the data for average, but not for min. and max. even though they are in the same chart, why? Also I tried to click on min --> apply --> export but I still get the data only for average.

Thank you for your help

Hello Sara,

OK, you can try creating a function called maxVal(Temperature/Pressure,(variable name))@(line, plane, volume, part name) in CFX-Pre. For example, to find the maximum Pressure:

maxVal(Pressure)@Domain

For the minimum value, just substitute maxVal with minVal.

Otherwise, you could try creating a point of 'variable maximum' and select pressure or whatever else as the variable.

Hey Sara!

You may need to import open graph meta tags generator the.trn file in CFX-Post in addition to the.res file when you go to insert -> chart in the general tab -> pick type: XY - Transient or Sequence in the X Axis tab -> select expression -> time steps in the Y Axis tab -> Selection of Data -> Variables include pressure, speed, etc. If the variable you're looking for isn't in the drop-down menu, there are three dots to the right of the selection box.

You must choose the entity in the Data Series tab if you intended the readings to be shown along a line or plane.
