SSG Reynolds Turbulence Model

Hello, I'm trying to run a flame simulation. I'm using a Methane Air Reaction with an air inlet and a methane inlet to simulate the combustion. When running the solver i keep receiving the error listed bellow.
I was able to run the simulation using steady state. It also runs correctly when i run it under transcient using a k_epsilon turbulence model. However when i try to run the SSG turbulence model i get nowhere. My model excludes temperature damping and radiation to simplify the problem . Also i'm running this model based on the results obtained from my k-epsilon model. I'm using CFx 10 , any ideas ? I've already tried reducing the physical timestep. ERROR #001100279 has occurred in subroutine ErrAction. c_fpx_handler: Floating point exception: Overflow ERROR #001100279 has occurred in subroutine ErrAction. Message: Stopped in routine _fpx_handler: |

Hi,
Reynolds stress models are always hard to converge, and when you add a combustion model you multiply the problem. To obtain convergence you are likely going to need extremely small timesteps, or run the simulation transient and march it to steady state. Also make sure you use a good initial guess - using an existing k-epsilon solution as an initial condition is a good start. Glenn Horrocks |
