I am simulating a swirl combustor and then I will validate it. But I do't want to complicate my geometry with the vanes of the swirl generator. So I am trying to simulate the inlet conditions with stating tangential and axial velocity profiles.

Does anybody know how to calculate these velocity profiles if the swirl number is given????

Hi,

Sounds like simple trigonometry to me. Look at the definition of swirl number and see how you go from there.
