how to simulate 2d solid heat conduction using CFX

Dear all,
I am looking at a steady 2-D heat conduction problem across a pipe wall with variable heat fluxes in the circumferential direction, heat flux dependent heat transfer coefficient on the outer pipe wall, and temperature-dependent thermal conductivity. I am wondering how to deal with the 2-D conduction in 3-D geometery? What should be the BC for the two end walls if the 3-D geometry must be solved. Any good examples for reference? Thanks! Richard |

I think u could use 1.000 mm (one millimeter) on the z direction and use the simmetry condition (on the same z direction) on cfx pre. donīt forget to make a comparison of your own model with experimental data before using the results for a real case founded on the industry,....

I suggest you will be able to utilize 1.000 mm (only one millimeter) on the z direction, using a condition of symmetry (on the same z direction) on cfx pre. donīt forget to make a comparison of your own model with experimental data before using the results for a real case found on the industry,.... I am so sorry, my english is getting worse on each day...
