Hi all.
I have been doing analyses on compressible flow through porous media. Helium flowing through a bed of spheres, where heat is added as well. My results are very different compared to my analytical calculation. Does anayone know how the porous model is bulidt up in CFX, the theory of it? Can it handle compressible flow? Or is the porous model in CFX buildt on an incompressible theory? Regards/JoFFe |

In CFX12 and earlier heat transfer from the fluid to the porous medium is not accounted for. If you do a search of the forum you will find a post by michael owen where he describes a method to do it. Alternately you can wait for V13 and it should be a part of the solver.

I am doing my master thesis work so I have no time to wait. But thanks for the information, I will try to find the post by michael.
