Anisotropic porosity

Hi,
i try to simulate a flow thru a porous foil. The foil has a anisotropic porosity (a lot of cylindrical pipes). In Fig 1 can you see the fluid domain (yellow) and the foil (red) and another porous domain (blue). Figure 2 shows velocity vectors on the domain interface. In this case i've used the isotropic porosity. How can i define that the velocity vectors are perpendicular to the surface? best regards frank Last edited by FrankW; August 2, 2011 at 11:01. You could define an anisotropic porosity which stops tangential flow but allows normal flow.

Yes, of course! It was my first idea, but i don't know how. I've a free form surface and i should define the streamline direction in x y and z. There is no possibility to set this normal to surface.

You could use 3 separate 3D interpolation functions, one for each component.
