Dear All,
I am modelling FSI in a pipe using Ansys CFX. What I want to do is to run the fluid part first and get time dependent average pressure on the wall. Then use this pressure distribution in structural part to find out how big the wall deformation is. I am OK with fluid part; however, don't know how to apply the fluid pressure in structural part. Does anyone know how? Kind regards, AshtonJ |

You need to import the pressures from CFD into Structural model. Check out the Probe Tutorial in ANSYS Customer Portal area.

Since the case is transient I wouldn't recommend the approach used in the probe tutorial. Using the 2-way/MFX approach, but only sending data in one direction is the first choice. The other option is to use APDL commands to read in the transient loads. I would ask ANSYS support how to do that.

Thanks for your helps.
I went through the probe tutorial. As Stumpy said, in this tutorial, a constant pressure load is transferred not transient! Dear Stumpy, could you please explain a bit more about your recommended options: 2-way/MFX and APDL commands. Thank you all Regards, AshtonJ |
