hello, I am trying to run a IC engine simulation In CONVERGE. The problem, I am facing is I am having a hard time understanding the beginning stroke in Converge. What I mean is if I put 720 CAD as start time, and my piston is at BDC., what stroke will start immediately: like compression or suction? Also when I try to simulate the piston simulation along with valve simulation in the View options. I only see no interference , but dont see both the piston and valve motion. Can Converge do that? If no, how do I make sure what will my initial stroke be, and I can make sure my valve profiles are adjusted according to that?

Hi,
0 °CA is Firing TDC, which means 720°CA is the same. Just make sure all profiles and injection angles, ignition angle etc are related to 0° Firing TDC. You can start at whatever °CA you want, make sure to initialize with useful values. CONVERGE will move the piston and valves to correct position and then start the simulation. |
