particularly for IC engine, is it important to put global coordinate center at the cylinder head for the imported surface file?

Hello Mohsin,
It is not necessary to have the origin of the coordinate system at the centre of the head. This is common practice, however. You're free to place the centre of your head anywhere you'd like, just ensure that the corresponding z-location is provided in engine.in. Similarly, if you wish to make use of the automatic piston motion calculator in CONVERGE, by default it is assumed the piston motion is aligned to the Z-axis. If this is not the case. make appropriate inclusions for the rotation axis and inclination angle for piston boundary in boundary.in Sincerely, |
