Default Streamlines in a transient rotating region

Hi all,

Has anyone any experience using Converge for transient rotating simulations?
I am not concerned about stream lines in general however my issue is that when generated within the solution domain anywhere in around the impeller I am simulating, they appear to flow into the walls.

They do not appear to correctly follow what should be the flow path through the impeller. Everything else appears to make sense and I would not question the solution so far until I observed this.

Any thoughts?
Thanks

Hi,

As you mentioned this is a transient problem where the impeller blades are rotating with a certain velocity. Streamlines are instantaneously tangent to the velocity vector of the flow. For a moving blade, the streamlines that you have shown next to the blade appear to be OK since the blade has a rotational velocity. If you are looking for the trajectories that individual fluid particles follow, those would be pathlines.

Thanks,
