Hi! Anyone knows how to figure this problems, please?
I'm trying to do the spray and combustion simulation in wankel engine by using converge. After adding the parcel C10H22, IC8H18 and C7H8 from the liquid database, and after adding them in the materials/species/parcel/query available list, then I found the Reaction Mechanism still contains only O and N the two elements, even though there are all green check on the tree. Besides, when I trying to RUN this case, it reported the error described as "0008 ERROR: spray evap_species in spray.in was not found in species listThe input value read from spray.in was: C10H22". In fact, before my last attempt, the error reports sometimes are different, it may report lack of C10H22 or IC8H18. I have no idea about how to figure that, anyone can help me please? |

Hi,
I suppose that the error is due to incorrect settings in the Droplet Evaporation. Since it is a multi-component fuel you need to make additional changes to spray parameters as explained below: I am assuming that you have multi-component fuel. First, you need to add the multi-component species under Species --> Parcel; I suppose you already did that. Next, you can define species mass fraction under Spray modeling --> Injectors --> edit --> Injected Species/Rate-Shape Navigate to General Settings by Spray modeling --> General --> Drop Evaporation --> Evaporation source -->2 - Source all base parcel species Next, Combustion modeling --> General --> Fuel species name: select IC8H18 ( I am making this assumption here as you mentioned the case setup is with Wankel Engine. If you have a different fuel you can select the same) |

First, thanks so much for answering my question. What confuses me is that I have already done the most of what you said—— the only difference between my settings and your suggestion is Spray modeling/Evaporation model/Evaporation source. My setting before is "0-source specified species". After changing it as you said, it reports new fault said " [evap_source_flag] -> Evaporation is on but parcel species for IC8H18 does not exist as a gas species. [evap_source_flag] -> Evaporation is on but parcel species for C10H22 does not exist as a gas species. [evap_source_flag] -> Evaporation is on but parcel species for C7H8 does not exist as a gas species." I guess that the three of my parcels are all liquids which cannot be added into the gas parcel. But then, I don't know how to deal with it again. Could you please explain briefly. Thank you! |
