Hello,
In fluent you can build your mesh before the case setup, and during the mesh building process you can fix the y+ desired to get the size to the cells near the wall, But in CONVERGE CFD the mesh is generated based on many parameters (base grid, AMR, fixed imbedding ...), where can I fix the y+ desired to get a mesh sufficiently refined near the wall based on the Y+. |

Hello Mohamed,
You have the below options to obtain a desired resolution/y+ control along the wall boundaries : 1. You can use y+ AMR and direct CONVERGE to refine/coarsen the grid based on a target y+ value. This can be done through Studio : Grid Control > Adaptive Mesh Refinement > Boundary. Use the Release panel to direct CONVERGE to coarsen the grid if y+ gets too low due to other AMR strategies. 2. CONVERGE users are free to create (in Studio) and/or import (CGNS format) custom boundary-layer meshes using the Inlaid mesh approach. Inlaid meshes are user-generated before running the simulation, and they automatically interface with our regular Cartesian cut-cell mesh at the interior of the domain. More details on the above approaches can be found in our Manual or our Grid Control introductory training session. Example cases with Inlaid mesh are also available in CONVERGE Studio. Sincerely, |
