Hi Every one !!

I am working on stepped spillways. My aim is to perfectly skim the flow over the steps of the stepped spillway. There are many conditions regarding the height of the steps and critical depth of the flow which are associated with skimming flow over the stepped spillway. In flow 3d when I use the first-order accuracy of momentum advection equations , for the same conditions the flow does not skim, but it jumps over the steps. While on the other hand when I use second-order accuracy it skims over the steps, but it does not get to steady-state and flow remains in the turbulent state showing huge turbulence over the steps. My question is how can we get the steady-state using second-order accuracy?

Thank You
