Hello everyone ,

I'm working on floating objects with mooring lines. I would like to see the SI units of pressure, kinetic energy ..etc at '' history data'' graph but I cant see any SI units, like for pressure kN/m^2 or for velocity m/s ... in axises.

To summarize I would like to see the SI units at X-axis and Y-axis at data history graph at Flowsight program.

Thanks for your help.

Hi

New flowsight versions put units automatically. version 10.2 does but 10.1 do not...

I have v11.2 but I still cant see the SI units at History data graph . Maybe I did not activate it. I dont know how to see the SI units . Like unit for pressure. For example in graph we can see the value of 200 but is it kN or N ...

I mean ensight's version. I have f3d 11.2 and flowsight did not show units. but newer f3d versions showed. but basically units are in the same order as your simulations. units are absolute. If you use SI your units are kg, m and s. so your forces are kg*m/s2, pressures are kg/m*s2

by the way, at f3d-analyze tab there should be a "units" button at bottom right. you can graph results with units at f3d gui.

If ım not boring you , I would like to ask a question.
For example, I would like to see the pressure force at the surface(X-min surface) of the floating object. I have plotted History graph for X-axis for floating object . I wonder , does this graph shows the force acting on the surface of the floating object ?
I tought graph shows the wave forces acting on the left side(X-min) side of the object.

this graph shows x component of total pressure force acting on every surface. If the driving force comes from wave, so yes this is wave force. if your wave is normal to xmin surface so yes, effectively the graph is for xmin surface. but if object will rotate for some reason, the side surfaces will contribute to this force graph also.

I hope this is an answer for your question. If not, I may understand it wrong.
