I am trying to simulate flow over ogee spillway using the open channel option available in fluent. the problem is- there is air flowing in the upstream direction with very high velocity of the range 700-800 m/s. I have seen this behavior of air phase in all the open channel simulation I have done before but this time the air is not letting the water flow over the spillway. if anyone knows how to control this reverse air flow, please help.

I found that using the default reference pressure location leads to this problem. Specifying the reference pressure location in the zone where air is present resolves this issue.
