Hi,

I'm new to dynamic meshing, I need to lower the computational cost of my problem. My idea was to use dynamic meshing to accomplish this, however since I have no experience with it I need basic guidance on whether or not this is even possible.

Water / oil is simulated in a capillary which is otherwise filled with air. I want to define various coarse / fine zones within the mesh. Part of it will be filled with the fluid. At first I will do a 1s simulation without gravity until the curvature is stable, then gravity will be activated and the mesh sorrounding the fluid has to move with the fluid.

I need to do this to get a high resolution fluid/gas interface, which will be necessary for follow up simulations (marangoni flow, heat transfer within that region etc.)

I understand interfaces between coarse and fine meshes need to be modeled because they are matching surfaces with different mesh topology. How do I manage to apply movement v(g)? Is the 6DOF solver appropriate? Any help regarding setup is very much appreciated, especially because the movement v(g) can't be defined as a value, since it will change throughout the simulation.

So far I've tried sliding mesh, two adjacent zones have contact via interface.

Dynamic mesh is activated (layering etc. all deactivated) and one of the zones has been set to a fixed translational velocity in cell zone conditions. Interface options is set to periodic boundary condition.

I don't get any movement whatsoever even though it is specified and I get no errors.

Hi, I have approximately the same problem and I can't do anything about these two complexities in one problem. my problem is cooling of a moving disc by an impinging oil jet.
Do you have some advise for me?
