Hi everybody,

I'm trying to simulate a water-flow inside a channel, with a groove infused with silicon oil.
There's a surface tension between the water-oil interface which leads to a specific interface shape, which is what I'd like to discover.

The problem is, I'm not entirely sure how to use the VOF model to simulate that.
I want the water to enter the channel inlet, and then, somewhere down the line, I want the oil to start, but it shouldn't be spread across the entire bottom length.
So, it's not a simple bottom-half filled with oil, upper-half filled with water, and I don't know how to separate between the phases that way.

Pictures to visualize what I want to do are given below.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I've corrected the geometry to include a groove, as follows:

And now I want the oil to be infused only in the groove area. I'm using the Open Channel option, but not the Wave Boundary Condition option.
Still, I get odd results. I want the water to start flowing from the inlet, and interact with the oil infused in the groove, until eventually both phases leave from the outlet.

Again, any help would be appreciated
