Hello,

i need to compile a udf.

First of all, i have windows x64, visual studio community 2019 and ansys fluent 18.2.

Is there a step-by-step guideline on how to attach visual studio to ansys so that i can compile and run the udf in fluent? I have attached the .c file underneath.

Thanks in advance!

I guess, the request was to how to compile and debug the udf within VS studio and not from ansys fluent's console.

Why do you guess that OP's question was different than what they wrote here?

Are you psychic? If so, please teach me that!

One does not need to be a psychic, the initial question says "attach visual studio to ansys so that i can compile and run the udf in fluent?"

Attach is just interpreted by me as an extension to compile and debug everything within VS so that errors are not on fluent's console but within some IDE , as that would be better, than unloading the UDF / and rebuilding it in fluent.

get my point?

No, I don't get your point.

As you quote, the question is how to make it so that they can "compile and run the udf in Fluent". Not about compiling in VS and running in Fluent.

But let me be more helpful. Is it you who has the question how to set up VS such that you can compile and debug in VS? If so, make that clear, maybe somebody can answer! I can't, but I remember another user here was promoting their website with something that could compile UDFs in a more user-friendly way. Maybe they see this question and can help you. If you really have that question...
