I think this could be an issue with people on windows 10 but not sure.
Basically i realized that my gzip.exe was also crashing when I recieved the error, so i went into the fluent folder and found the gzip.exe and did a simple test to see if it would work in cmd. Basically i tried to gzip a text file and found that it crashed!! Yureka! So this told me that the gzip.exe file itself was corrupt or not compatible with windows.

So I went to: http://www.gzip.org/gzip124xN.zip
Got the new gzip.exe and replaced this one with the one installed in my ansys folder at C:\Program Files\ANSYS Inc\v170\fluent\ntbin\win64 and overwrote the gzip.exe.

Now everything works!!!

I have some video tutorials in CFD,

Thank you Drdalyo, this worked for me:

I have problem "loading" .gz files on Windows 8 and 10, also saving them in .gz format. I replaced both gzip.exe and gunzip.exe files with the new "gzip.exe you provided" and rename one of them back to gunzip.exe [in C:\Program Files\ANSYS Inc\v170\fluent\ntbin\win64]

This was a perfect solution!Thanks!

Hi Drdalyo,

Did you mean overwrite the gzip.exe in the Ansys folder with the gzip.exe you downloaded from http://www.gzip.org/gzip124xN.zip?
Sorry, I got the opposite impression from your explanation and got confused.

Why do you need gzip? It is automatically installed with Fluent and is available at same location as fluent.exe in Windows. Linux has it preinstalled.

What do you mean by crashing? You cannot use these files by standard double clicking approach Windows follows. These can only be used via command or by Ansys tools that are linked to it. You can re-install Ansys to get it back.
