Hi,
I am trying to simulate drop deformation and I am thinking of using dynamic mesh for the interface which would be finer in the interface region and coarser elsewhere. Would dynamic grid adaptation work instead???? Or only dynamic mesh is the solution??
Please help.
Regards,
Indrajit

There is no need of dynamic mesh.
You should use multiphase flow, specially VOF model. I have done that before.

Hi Saeed,
Thank you so much for your reply.Actually the problem is thus:
I am using the VOF model currently but having finer mesh throughout the domain is increasing my computational points which in turn is making the simulation very expensive. Hence I am thinking of using a fine mesh only along the interface and coarse elsewhere. But since the interface is deforming I guess my fine mesh should follow the interface and hence dynamic mesh.
However I also came across the dynamic grid adaptation in fluent. I guess if I adapt my grid only in interface region and it is adapted as the flow proceeds would that be good enough???

Hello sir

I have a micro channel of 50 micro x 50 micro x 1000 micrometer length.I want to trace the path of the water droplet inside this channel .Continous phase is oil. and i am in need of the velocity of the droplet at different time upto steady state condition when it is driven by the continous fluid with a flow rate of 50 microlitre /min by the drag force . how we create two domains in Ansys DM.

Thanking You
