Hi, I am looking to simulate the release of a gas from a burning coal particle. I am using either the non-premixed combustion model or species transport model on Fluent 14.5.

If I can add the compound somehow I could possibly release it according to particle temperature using DEFINE_DPM_HEAT_MASS.

But how can I add the particle in the first place? Maybe via UDF or another way. I am fairly new to Fluent.
And is there anyway to define the ash properties of the coal particle?

Thanks in advance!
