Hey!
Is it possible to start a new iteration with new setup from a specific previous iteration step? I used to do that a lot with OF but now with Fluent I couldn't find a way to do it. |

Hi mate,
if you're using Fluent via workbench, just connect from "Solution" of problem which has been solved to "Solution" of problem which you wanna start from last one. See the pircture: 7-4-2013 7-30-42 PM.jpg If you are using Fluent as standalone, and you just change the setup within one file, just start calculation without initializing; it will start from last run. If you use Fluent as stanalone and files are different (meshes are different in two files), you need to interpolate (File->Interpolate) to write a data file from first problem and then interpolate to read data from file you just created.

Hi,
I am having a similar problem. I am using coarse mesh for an unsteady simulation until a specific time. Then I interpolate results and initiate another case with same setup but finer mesh to continue my simulation. The problem is residuals don't converge good. I have decreased time step and also decreased under-relaxation factors but nothing changes. any suggestions please? |

no. I just interpolate but the residuals are not good.
