Hi, I am really new to Fluent. I am working on a FSI modelling by coupling transient structural and Fluent. An error came out, shown as below:
System Coupling Co-Simulation Summary |
+================================================= ===================+

Participant : Solution 2
Version/Build Info = 14.5.0
Participant : Mechanical APDL (Solution)
Version/Build Info = Mechanical APDL Release 14.5 UP20120918
WINDOWS x64 Version

+================================================= ===================+
NOTICE
An exception has occurred and has been transmitted to the coupling
participants. These participants have been disconnected from the
coupling service.
+================================================= ===================+

+================================================= ===================+
System Coupling Exception
+================================================= ===================+
Origin : Copy of Fluid Flow (Fluent) (Solution 2)
Error Code : 20
Error Description :
Exception encountered when the coupling service requested
ChartableData->GetRootLevelName: Communication socket
unexpectedly disconnected.
+================================================= ===================+

System coupling run completed with errors.

It seems that system coupling process worked only on Sructural while not on Fluent. Could anyone help me with this error?

I think this error occurs when Fluent and MAPDL both try to get the same license. If you are using an Academic License then you'll need to turn off license sharing in your Workbench license preferences.

Hi Stumpy, The error is gone after I turned off license sharing. Thank you so much~~

Hi,
I am running a co-simulation by using system coupling with ansys CFX and transient structural. Its Chapter 23: Oscillating Plate with Two-Way Fluid-Structure Interaction in CFX Tutorials. I receive the following error message:

MAPDL is unable to connect to the system coupling service on Acer through port 50481. Please check ANSYS execution options -schost and -scport for a System Coupling analysis and ensure that the host name and the port number are correct.

Kindly help me.

Hi~ I met the same problem as you as follows:
MAPDL is unable to connect to the system coupling service on account.jetbrains.com through port 43162. Please check ANSYS
execution options -schost and -scport for a System Coupling analysis
and ensure that the host name and the port number are correct.

Have you solved this problem now? Please help me~ Thank you a lot~~~

Yes, I have solved the problem. It was a license issue. I reinstalled the ANSYS and now it works fine. But kindly do check what have you done wrong during installation. Because, if you repeat the installation error the re installation will not solve the issue.

Hello, I have a problem with system coupling (Static structural and Fluent), I wanna investigate the effect of the air temperature on the stress analysis, when I select the temperature and I do not get the chance to run the simulation, anyone has any idea about the recommended settings or any complete tutorial which can be sent to me? The screenshot is attached..
Thanks

I tried changing the license option, but it did not work, any other suggestion?

Here is a simple case of mine, Could any one try it on his machine and check if the problem is in the setup or in my installation.

I try to Start > All Programs > ANSYS 17.0 > ANSYS Client Licensing > User License Preferences 17.0 to check the use a separate license for each application. But it doesn't work.Should I re-simulate it? I really need your some help.Thank you very much.

I used another way. I generated results in FLUENT and then used them in ANSYS mechanical.
Thanks

Hello dear Rupali, I shew the method in a tutorial:
https://youtu.be/0dkt2KgrKaw
We use the same method to import data from CFX into ANSYS mechanical to study the thermal analysis or the stresses for turbomachinery. I used FLUENT to get results related to velocity effect, then the results are used in ANSYS thermal to cool the PV panel. I am not sure if this can help you or not. Tell me please because there are other methods but I did not need them.
Thanks

I am following this tutorial:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AO_n-tESNPo&t=11s
I am facing error when solving for system coupling. The error says:
MAPDL is unable to connect to the system coupling service on Dell through port.
I am not able to figure out where I am doing wrong. I would be very thankful to you if you could help me in this. Thanks in advance.
