Hi I am trying to model heat transfer from hot wall to fluid in a 2D channel. Can anybody please suggest me whether I should use simple or coupled wall condition. Also, if I know my heat transfer rate, should heat flux input be sufficient or I have to give high temperature at the wall.

Hi,
it depends on your domain: if you are modeling the material out of the channel wall the channel wall is coupled and it is automatically created a shadow-wall, otherwise it will be a "simple" wall.
If you are modeling the fluid inside the channel and the channel thickness, but not the fluid out of the channel, the internal wall will be coupled, the external "simple", and you'll set bc at the external wall.

For thermal boundary conditions you have to input the heat flux or the temperature at wall (in the case of a "simple" wall).

Thanks for your reply.
I am only modeling the air flow inside the channel at subsonic M.
Though I use a simple wall or a coupled wall with high temperature/heat flux as wall b.c; there is not noticeable change in flow properties.
I have used very high amount of heat flux and temperature, however the flow properties remain almost same.
Should other boundary conditions like wall shear for convection is to be used? Currently I am using no-slip conditions.
Can anyone please help?
