Hello everyone,

I try to optimize the shape of inlet channel using the Adjoint Solver. I have two questions:

1) I have two wall boundaries. The wall of channel, which I want to modify. And the wall of forcer, which I don't want to modify. In "zones to be modified" I select only wall of channel, but wall of forcer modified too. The pictures show that wall of forcer is inside the box (in which mesh have to modified).

Tell me, please, how can I avoid the change of forcer wall?

2) I use the poly mesh. How can I export surface poly mesh in CAD format? For example, STL?

Thank you and kind regards!
Paul

What meshing software do you use?I recommend you to use ICEM CFD because boundaries/parts can be created separately, then you can specify sizes for each part.if u do not want a part/surface to be meshed,u just don't specify the element size for that part.

I use ICEM CFD and then do polyhedra mesh in FLUENT. I separated boundary to parts, channel wall which I want to modify, and forcer wall which I dont want to modify.

(I use module Adjoint Solver in Ansys Fluent for the solution of the optimization problem)

Thanks for the reply.
