Hi, guys

I have met a annoying and wired problem.I finished the mesh and preparing to calculate it in fluent. But the fluent refused to start by showing:"Unable to connect to external socket: Error during socket creation".

What should I do to solve the problem?

Thank you very much!!

I have solved the problem by myself.
because of the VMware I installed!!
which leads to port collision.just forbid the vm net card then solve the problem.

How were you able to find this solution? I am running on Windows 10 and am not aware of any VMware on this computer...This has been the only solution I have been able to find for this problem. Would you be able to explain how to determine this and fix this problem?

Hi,

I have given up using Fluent because I fond CFX is more easy to use for me.

But I still may have a suggestion for you,

I am pretty sure about the reason of the problem is about the internet port in ur computer. I suggest you keep the EXACTLY internet condition when you installed the ANSYS.

If it still not working, just check the wifi and cable connection and try to shut down or open them.

Of course, the best way is to ask help to the ANSYS company.

Good luck!
