I am simulating a damper in fluent. I have provided mass and acceleration due to gravity.spring constant is also defined.
now I have to plot the displacement vs time graph. even in the report definitions displacement parameters not available. how to create displacement graph?

vinerm will become famous soon enough
If you are looking for displacement of the rigid body, then that is written using six-DOF model setting. There is option to write motion history. However, displacement is nothing but the position coordinates. So, you can also write all three coordinates (only one if motion is along one axis) for any one point on the rigid body.

OS what do I have to do after choosing write to file? Does the file automatically write displacement v/s time in the file or is there any other post processing I have to do.

please don't mind if my question is bad. I am doing simulations for the first time and am trying to figure out how things work.

thank you.

Hello, can you please help me with the write motion history file? Does there need to be a UDF in order to generate this file? I need to write the motion of fluid so chose the deforming option for fluid interior, and do not know if this is enough or correct.
