Hello everyone,
I have just started working in fluent and problem I'm stuck with is in simulation of very simple case of double pipe exchanger (I'm doing this for the comparison of outlet temperatures expected from Dittus Boelter and CFD) . I am using mass flow inlet at shell side and tube side as well while the outlet is simply velocity outlet. Hot flow is entering from shell side and inlet is at 100 C and cold water inlet is 30 c. At outlet I'm expecting 98 C (from dittus boelter, also confirmed by Aspen) but no matter what I do almost all the fluid is at 25 C and temperature gradient is in just first 50mm (total length 1000 mm ). Is this the right approach for such kind of problems? Keeping in mind that my goal is to compare multiple correlations with CFD results. |
