Hi

I got a big problem with non-premix CH4-air combustion. I use laminar flow in my model and the mechanism is SKELWS (35 reactions and 16 species) and the properties: Thermal conductivity use "mass-weighted-mixing-law", Viscosity use "mass-weighted-mixing-law", Mass Diffiusivity use "kinetic-theory", Thermal Diffusion Coefficient use "kinetic-theory".
The nods is about 200 thousand. And the solution method is "SIMPLE", pressure is "PRESTO!" and "Second Order Upwind".
After the solution converge.
The temperature is still very high (3900 K).
If any one know what's going on, please help me.

Thanks.

Jill

Hi Jill Wu!

I am working with fluent to simulate the laminar diffusion flame for CH4-Air combustion.
Setting density: idle gas, Heat capacity Cp:Mixing law,Thermal conductivity:Idle gas-Mixing law, Viscosity:Idle gas- Mixing law. Mass diffusion: Kinetic-theory

The node number: 11500

Scheme: Simple- 2nd order

The maximum temperature is 4020K

I got the same problem as you. I confuse about this

If you solved the problem please teach me to over come this.
Thank you so much!
