gmatera43 is on a distinguished road
Hello,
I am currently simulating the flow through a front wing in ground effect.
Firstly, I meshed the entire domain and with refinements at both trailing and leading edges and added roughly 17 inflation layers around the whole body (wing+endplate).
However, when I converted the all mesh into polyhedral I got the warning "aspect ratio too high detected at the boundary" so I chose the option that allowed me to keep to BL and mesh the rest. The result was that all the domain was converted into polyhedral except the inside of the wing that remained with the previous mesh (tetrahedral). It turned out that tis configuration gave me sensible data.
My current problem is that I cannot "go back" to that mesh configuration, as I changed my mesh for refinement reasons. Now, when I convert the whole domain into polyhedral the "warning" message does not appear anymore and Fluent converts everything into polyhedral (including the inside of the wing). The results of this mesh configuration turned out to be completely wrong even using the same setup.
Does anyone know how to convert "partially" the domain into polyhedral and leave the inside of the wing as tetrahedral? I was thinking it might be caused by some of the settings in the boundary layer meshing settings.

Please find here attached two screenshots of the previous (tetra+poly) mesh and the current one (poly only).

Thanks in advance.
Giuseppe.
