Hi all
I need urgent help about my thesis. I am working on boundary layer in plunge motion as my MSc thesis experimentally I have measured the velocity profile using pressure rake. I have to do some numerical woirk for comparision with experimental result to examine rake measurement accuracy. I have tried to model it in fluent but I can not hook the UDF with mesh and my mesh did not move. the error note on Fluent screen is " object not found", while I was trying to load UDF what should I do? I am hopefully waiting for any advice and here is my email address rezvan.abdollahi@gmail.com |

You might want to have a look at my thread here: http://www.cfd-online.com/Forums/fluent/78014-airfoil-pitching-problem.html.
I've been doing airfoils in pitch/plunge motion. I posted a sample udf in that thread, which has been working for me. Were you able to get your udf to compile without errors? I haven't had any problems hooking the udf to a zone. |

Hi, Thanks for your help. In my case, Fluent cannot find any udf in directory. the problem occurred when I wanted to load udf for compiling I need some qualitative information about boundary layer profile shape in some location can I ask you to give me some information about your case in plunge motion pleas? I just want to know the trend of changing boundary layer profile versus time and frequency. I would be appreciated if you can help me please

Sounds like kind of a lot of work. I can give you my case file on Monday with the a UDF set up for only plunging and all compiled so it should be able to run on your computer. Then you can run it and look at the data you want. I would need to know the chord length of your airfoil and the frequency and amplitude of plunging that you want to look at. Dan |

Dear Dan,
I could not access the CFD-online website these past days. I tried to answer your post via email but it was not possible. Many thanks for your help and it is very kind of you. I am very appreciated for your help and hopefully waiting for your response. Regards rezvan |
