Turbulent flow entering laminar domain

I am modelling turbulent water flow to a large tank. The tank is 60,000 m3 and has heat loss boundary conditions on the edges but is definitely laminar.
The pipe with the flow entering is definitely turbulent and enters through a diffuser (e.g. flow that hits a plate to slow it down). My problem is that I do not know how to model the turbulent transition to laminar in the tank?? And from what I have been able to read, modelling it both as either fully laminar or fully turbulent would be garbage results.. |
