Hello everyone,

i want to simulate wand jet through the compared of DNS and RANS with wall function. The inlet velocity(U0) is changing with time, the max. velocity is 725m/s. If firstly via DNS simulate, how should i set the min. size of meshing. In my opinion, using max. maximum velocity in the streamwise direction(Um) and assume y+=1, then calculate the distance from first grid to wall as the min. size of meshing, but i am really not sure. If i am right, how to calculate or estimate Um? Which relationship between Um and inlet velocity U0? Someone can help me? Thanks ad.
