Hi,
I am preparing 2D FSI analysis in ANSYS Fluent and Mechanical. For this purpose, I created extruded (sweep) mesh for the one layer. I am using smoothing and 2.5D remeshing. Unfortunately, I had the NCV (Negative Cell Volume) problem. My case is some flap in the water stream. In the below picture, I showed the cell volume contour and mesh; it shows only negative cell volumes. ![]() Please give me some advices, what could be wrong. I tested many time step sizes, the min and max cell size in dyn mesh settings is OK. Regards Destroy |

It seems to me like the information about the flap deformation is not transferred from Mechanical to Fluent.
The mesh before calculation: ![]() and after calculation, with negative cell volumes: ![]() It's strange - I set appropriate data transfers and dynamic mesh zones. But I'm not sure if I should search the mistake here - maybe it's only dynamic mesh issue? |
