as explained in the title, in combustion modeling, why in most cases we assume equilibrium? what is the effect of non-equilibrium?

Please give a particular example. What does equilibrium mean in this question? And in which flavor of combustion modeling you are talking about?

The mesh is like a variable and together with the boundaries you have a equation.
