Please if anyone can help me with this it would be greatly appreciated. I am currently in 4th year working on my dissertation where I have to design a supersonic blast cleaning nozzle and model and analyse this using Ansys and Fluent.

First of all, I created a simple 2D geometry of my nozzle and using k-e epsilon with standard wall function I was able to generate results which are shown in the first 2 attachments along with my mesh which look reasonable in comparison with hand calculations.

I then proceeded to model an external jet to better understand the flow however this is where I am getting issues. Various error messages are shown like "Divergence detected in AMG solver" or "Excessive temperature temporarily reducing courant number..." after a few calculations and then I have to stop the calculation.

Once I stopped the calculations, I checked some of the contours which do not look correct at all. These are shown in the other attachments along with the mesh for the nozzle and the jet and my boundary conditions.

I am using pressure inlet at inlet with gauge pressure set to 690000 Pa and pressure outlet at outlet set to atmospheric. Walls for the nozzle and domain respectively.

I am unsure if the problems are coming from my boundary conditions or from my setup and I am in DESPERATE need of help!

My plan is to eventually include a physical wall in the domain and run a DPM to analyse particle flow and erosion rates against the work piece however I need to be able to run this problem correctly first.

Please if you can take a look and help me with this it would be greatly appreciated as I am running out of time. I would be willing to pay for you're time if required.

If needed you can also reach me via email at kyle.crawford.2013@uni.strath.ac.uk

Thank you!

could you provide us some information about your boundary conditions?

like turbulence model, boundaries (it seems to me that your pressure inlet is ot well defined, you have very high inlet velocities), steady state settings, material model etc

if you're still looking for help, pls share the summary file of your model. Use TUI command report/summary and save it on a file, and upload here.. without more information about case-setup and BCs, it's difficult for anyone to provide useful help.
