Dear All,
To solve the following warning in Fluent,I increased the maximum number of time steps used to compute a single particle trajectory. But the warning was not solved !!! "" WARNING: 53.5245% of the total discrete phase mass was not tracked for the expected residence time: 0.000956 s less on a mass-weighted average (which is 0.1525% of their total age or 95.6261% of the last time step). You may be able to reduce this discrepancy by changing the tracking parameters, that is, increasing the maximum number of time steps used to compute a single particle trajectory. "" Please tell me How can I solve this warning? Is there another way to solve this warning? Best regards, Ali |

Thanks for your response,
Sorry I has increased it up to 5000 and also to 500,000 but the warning was not solved !!! |

At first, I solved a converged multi-phase flow of fluids (CFD). Now I want to add particles flow (DPM) to it.
How much should I increase max. number of time steps in DPM model? Best, Ali |

You can start with keeping no of continuous phase iteration to 500 and max no of time step to 2000.

Did you made CFD in 3d models? If its yes.. can you tell me how to solved convergn multi-phased? Can you tell me how to solved converged multi-phase flow? please send by email nurrahmatsusilo@gmail.com |

I´m facing the same problem. Has someone found a solution? I also increased the maximum number of steps up to 50000, but still the same warning. I try to solve a transient simulation of a sedimentation tank. I would be happy if someone try to help me. Best regards. |

check your input model parameters in DPM model. Most probably double check the mass flow rate. I get rid of this warning by changing my simulation modelling parameters.
I hope it will help. Quote:

I believe the problem is related to the vast numbers of injected particle. How can I reduce them to the specified number?
