Steady or Transient Solver

Dear All,
I am interested in running a model of a Francis turbine at constant conditions (constant RPM and inlet mass flow). It's my understanding that the unsteady and swirling nature of the flow requires a transient solver, however, I am have seen conflicting views online. Could someone please clarify that this is the case? I do not want the model to the turbine accelerating from rest. All thoughts appreciated, Thanks. |
