Default Inflation Layers on 3d aircraft

Hello everyone,

I am currently doing an aircraft simulation in Fluent and have done so successfully, but without the use of inflation layers on the aircraft.

Once I add these layers, the orthogonal quality and skewness of the mesh drop considerably in the trailing edge (sharp corner) and I cannot use this mesh for the setup I have created.

I have also read that dividing the domain can help in this, but I don't know where to start, as the trailing edge of the aircraft is a little complex to sketch.

Here are some images of the mesh and a dropbox link to the workbench file: https://www.dropbox.com/s/bek071zcmj...raft.wbpj?dl=0

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

Regards,

Aurelio.

Are you creating the geometry in DesignModeler?

Add a new plane, split the wing surface by this new plane using 'Tools > Split Face' option. Then in the mesh add a face sizing control (Mesh > insert > Sizing, select a face) on different parts of the wing surface as needed.

Hello,

I created the geometry in Solidworks, but I will try the solution with the imported model in DesignModeler.

I have tried the sizing options (0.005m) without the plane division, and it has certainly increased the quality of the mesh in the aircraft.

Thank you,

Aurelio
