Fluent Version

There is no student version of Fluent; only the license is different and that controls the size of mesh that Fluent can work on. If the report file is not created then either it already exists and Fluent was unable to overwrite or the File writing was inactive. If it is inactive, you can activate it by using Right-Click on Report Files > Monitor File that you created.

You are working within WB. Then, you cannot control the location of the files. The files you are referring to are Fluent's case and data files, its primary files. The report or monitor files might be in user data or user directory within dp0. Just go to View > Files within Workbench and then look for the file that you want in the list it shows. Then, right-click on the File and select Open Containing Folder.

Then, either the file was not written or it might be in user's files with WB project folder. Go to Report Files and look at Full Name of the file. It will also show the directory where it is supposed to create the file.

Windows does not allow filenames to start with a dot.
