viscous resistance and inertial resistance of porous media

Hi all,
I am doing a porous media combustion with fluent. When setting resistance coefficients of porous media, I need to set viscous resistance and inertial resistance. I often set viscous coefficient and ignore inertial coefficient. I am wondering in what situations I can ignore inertial resistance and in what situations I can not. Best regards Weiqiang |

Carry out an order of magnitude analysis for both terms. For most of the cases, particularly with velocity being greater than 1, inertial loss is more significant than viscous loss.
