Hi all,
I want to define my own thermal conductivity with DEFINE_PROPERTY macro in porous media zone. I know fluent will calculate thermal conductivity of the cell by volume averaged method. My question is: If I use DEFINE_PROPERTY to return a thermal conductivity of fluid, then will fluent still use volume averaged method to calculate final conductivity or DEFINE_PROPERTY returns is the final thermal conductivity? Best regards Weiqiang |

Fluent always uses porosity (volume) weighted properties. If you want the property to be given by DEFINE_PROPERTY or if you want it to be same (despite being averaged), then provide same values for fluid as well as solid material.
