Saving Transient solution data files

Default Saving Transient solution data files

Hello
I am doing transient simulation for 3D bluff body using HPC cluster account.
I have large number of time steps 3500.

If I save data for each time step or every 10 time step, then downloading such huge solution files for a very large number of time steps from cluster account is really a problem.

Is there any way to save data of all the time steps in one file?

if not then can i save data of interest only for each time step.( X vorticity in my case.)

Yes you can! Double click in Calculation Activities, create a automatic export and then you can select the variables of interest.

If you are interested of X vorticity only on a certain surface, just crate a report file via "Report Definitions". And or alternatively use Solution Animation to create a plot every 10th time step of X vorticity automatically.

I need to analyse X vorticity at different cut planes over the body. Is it possible to export data for various cut planes.

Dear Moritz thank you for the reply.
As I tried to monitor x vorticity but the file save have same size as of other data files so the problem remains.
As I need to monitor x vorticity though various cut planes to I guess solution animation would not help.
Is there any other way around.

First define your cut planes. Then go to Report Definitons and create a Surface Report, where you can write the average, min or max of the x vorticity in this plane to a file. You can even define a single point. In this way you have one file for all time steps, with this single information. What you did results in one single file for each time step. Isn't it?

u can create n number of cut planes as per ur wish in create report definitions and select the variable of interest. make sure while creating u enabled the report files and create output file and select only one plane of interest like cutplane-1 and vorticity. similarly create another definition for other planes. if u want to monitor data for every iteration u can opt report plot also.
now, u can select whatever definitions u created either for reporting or plotting. here u can club all definitions into one file and those wont get averaged and all data will be saved for each iteration.

Hello Thank you for the suggestion
I have defined various cut planes and in surface monitors i select the variable to interest but its saving text data. I need to visualize the flow fields.

yes you are right.
I follow your steps and create surface monitors for the cutplanes its now saving text files i need to visualize the flow fields.
