Hi,

I have a computer having eight-core.

I have run fluent in parallel ( 7 core) as calculation begin. Then Fluent abruptly have shut down abruptly after calculation has continued a length of time

How can I solve it ? and How can I resume calculation?

Kind Regards,

Save frequently and resume from where you left off.

But for a long term fix you need to figure out if it's hardware related or software related. First, are there any errors in the simulation or does Fluent just abruptly disappear without leaving a trace?

Try running in serial mode (for a long time) to see if it still abruptly shuts down. Then try running in parallel mode with different MPI's. But pay attention to your hardware like CPU temperatures, bandwidth usage, etc.

Do you have 8 physical cores or are you running a hyper-threaded quad-core? Try disabling hyper-threading.

Hi LuckyTran,

I have handled it in serial mode rather than the 7 physical cores I have allowed to

Thank you

Hello, can you clear on how you solved the issue. I'm facing the same problem.
