Hi everybody,
I am trying to evaluate the fluidynamic of air in an air duct in ANSYS using Fluent, but the geometry is quite complex and I am having a very specific problem.
The duct is composed by 3 "compounds": central part, lateral part and multiple vertical and horizontal apertures (in the thread the screenshots are uploaded). I created a partition in a different software (SALOME) so the shared areas are not overlapping and creating problems in the mesh, indeed the outcome is that regions shared are gonna be cutted from the central and lateral part of the duct (also I checked from the Workbench in Ansys Geometry-SpaceClaim-Repair-Duplicates that no duplicated areas are present). Although ANSYS is still giving problems in the mesh step saying that overlapping still happens, does somebody know which could be the problem or how can I solve it?

In Spaceclaim try using the "Interference" tool under Prepare>Interference. This is usually the best tool for finding overlapping bodies. Once you locate the overlapping bodies you can either use the "Combine" tool to Boolean cut the overlapping region, or just use the move tool to move the body to the proper location.

hi, tha nks for your response. Although if I continue in that way in the SETUP workbench Ansys is gonna give me additional contact regions anyway and i cannot deactivate those I think

I may be misunderstanding the issue you are having. You can control the contact regions in both Spaceclaim and Meshing. Can you elborate more on the issure you are having?
