I have a model with 1 inlet dividing into 3 mass flow outlets. The problem is defined by the mass flow out not the inlet so I need to define mass flow on the outlets.
I set the inlet to 0m3/hr and the three mass outlets with their respective mass flow rates as positive numbers. But nothing is happening. Any ideas as to how migh model this? I have attached an image of the setup |

so I tried a work around solution
I took the total mass flow leaving through the two pumps of 15,208 m3/hr. Equated this to 4.22 cubic m/s divided it by the inlet area to give a flow rate of 0.456m/s. then used outflow boundary condition with the flow divided 72% & 28% to the two different pumps. But when I compute the mass flow out I get -5.1660714kg/s Material is water so density is almost 1 so should be nearer the 4.22 cubic input I would have thought? Any ideas or suggestions? |
